Files created under "My Files" disappear on next IFP login

Scenario

"I have created a Report Definition for my use only, saved under 'My Files' in IFP. Once I close IFP and login again, this file has disappeared. I notice the same happens for other file types (Item Favourites, Packages etc.)".

Cause

This is a known issue when running under certain Citrix configurations. These files are saved in the Windows User Profile, but unfortunately Citrix is clearing this User Profile when you log off.

Solution

A workaround was implemented in IFP 3.1.2. If you wish to create items under My Files, you should make the following change:

1. From IFP Home, select Settings > Personal Settings.
2. Select Store My Files in a Custom Location. Choose a suitable network path that is only accessible by you. This may be known as your "home drive".
3. Click OK to make the change.
