Data Options in Statistical Forecasting

Data Files

You should select a combination of actual and forecast demand files that include all periods to be used for all selected items. The forecast file to be used for the current year must contain actual demand to date.

It is critical that these files are in year sequence, e.g. 2010 appears before 2011.

Period and Data Selections

First and last period should normally be January and December respectively. Normally, statistical forecasts will be used to estimate future units and will be based upon unit actual demand data. Hence, data to be amended and entered should both be set to Units.
