How to Add a New Classification Variable

Overview

There may be instances where a new Classification Variable is required in your database. This may, for instance, be due to a variable being required in the creation of a specific upload file.

Adding the New Variable

1. From IFP Home select Codes Maintenance > Item Code Classification Variables Maintenance
2. Click Add on the toolbar
3. A warning will appear - only proceed if you are sure you wish to add the variable and understand the effects
4. Add the Classification Variable name in the Description field
   
5. Select the Variable Type to use. This will be List unless informed otherwise
6. Select the required Variable Length
7. If required, add the Global Id by simply typing in the required Global ID name and click OK.
