Rebuild Item Codes File

Scenario

"I have set some item codes to be deleted and now want to remove them permanently. How do I do this?"

Solution

To permanently remove the Item Codes that have been set to Deleted, you need to do an Item Codes Rebuild.

This will rebuild the Item Codes master file; deleting any item codes whose status are stated as Deleted, while also replacing current item codes with codes entered in the New Item Code column in Item Code Classification Maintenance.

To rebuild item codes:

1. From IFP Home select Codes Maintenance > Advanced Tools > Rebuild Item Codes File.
2. Select Re-build.
   
3. If you have created a Database Backup, are the only user logged in and definitely wish to make the changes, select Yes.
4. The item codes will be rebuilt.

Your item codes will now be up to date and will all be Active.

WARNING: Once Rebuild Item Codes has been run, all item codes with Deleted Status will be permanently removed from the database. Be careful which item codes you mark as deleted!
