Overview
This topic shows how to create new field mappings in order to be able to import new item codes and data from various different source files.
There are 2 ways of mapping a field in IFP: mapping the required field to a single field (column) in the source file and mapping a field using a formula. When mapping a file you can use both options, however you can only use one option per IFP field.
Single Field Mapping
- Select a field in IFP you wish to map from the drop-down
- Click the be mapped to a single field in the source data option
- Select the field in the source data below to map the IFP field to. IFP will then update the be mapped to a single field to the field you have selected
- Once you have mapped all the required fields, you should check the sample on the next screen. If this is as expected you can Save Field Mappings.
Mapping a Field Using a Formula
- Select a field in IFP you wish to map from the drop-down
- Click the be mapped to a complex expression option and select Build...
- This will open the Expression Builder window. From here you are able to select fields which exist in the source file directly from the list or create your own formula. The formula can be made of IF queries (using IIF), individual fields and additional text you wish to add as well as other formula.
In the example shown above the Product Code, Country and Customer Group fields have been combined, each separated by an underscore - Once you have mapped all the required fields, you should check the sample on the next screen. If this is as expected you can Save Field Mappings.
