Each Report Definition line has several Advanced Options available - these are described below. To set Advanced Options for a line:
- Select the line in the Report Definition Editor.
- Click Properties
- Select the Advanced Options tab.
Note: Not all Advanced Options are available for all line types.
Hidden Line
This option allows you to hide the line in a report. This may be due to the information not being relevant to the report or that it was used in creating a calculation where only the final total is required. Hidden lines are shown in faint text in the Report Definition Editor.
No Shading (Calculated Line)
This option determines whether this line is shaded or not when the final report is produced. This option can only be used on calculated lines.
Always Output Line
These lines will always be output in a report, regardless of whether or not Include zero lines is selected. This is useful for generating standard reports that always show the same set of lines, regardless of the period/files used.
Base line for percentages
This option identifies the line concerned as containing total base values for reports that include percentage of total calculations.
No Scaling
This option stops any scaling taking place on this line even if selected in the reporting options.
Convert Annual Totals as Averages
Rather than having the total for the whole year displayed in the total column, this option allows you to show an average total for the year. This would be useful to see how your monthly sales compare with the average for the whole year.
Exploded Periods Line
Creates a copy of the line concerned for each month/day within the selected period and explodes it alongside the line that has been selected. This means that the selected line months will be shown in rows, rather than columns.
Cumulative Periods Line
Forces Exploded Periods line to contain cumulative values.
Last Selected Period Line
Rows corresponding to this line will contain values for the last of the selected periods only. For example, if the selected period is January to July, then rows corresponding to this line will contain values for July only.
No Currency Conversion
By default, data for all rows in reports that contain values or prices are automatically converted into the selected reporting currency using the selected exchange rate table for each file. Setting this option causes this currency conversion process to be switched off for report rows generated by this line.
No Exchange Variances
Setting this option causes any exchange variance column to be set to zero for report rows corresponding to this line. This option is important for rows that contain exchange variance accounts in P&L databases, in order to avoid spurious exchange variance calculations.
Specify Periods
This option allows you to specify the exact period the data should be shown for in terms of months. The First Period is the first month you require data for; the Last Period is the last month you require data from.
