Overview
The Report Definition Editor is the tool that you use to create and edit Report Definitions in IFP. It is split into the General tab and the Line Definitions tab.
When creating reports that use Report Definitions, the content of each line in the resulting report depends on the relevant line definition. Each line type has its own editor. When you add a new line or change the line type, the appropriate editor is displayed.
More information on each editor is available in the following topics:
- Combination-Based Lines (Item Code, Classification Variable and External Variable lines)
- Trading Days Lines
- Simple Calculation Lines
- Range Sum Lines
- Other Calculated Lines
- Simple Text Lines
Advanced and Exploding Options
There are also Advanced Options available for each line type, and Explode Options for Classification Variable Lines.
Example
In the example below, we required an Analysis by Customer definition. Classification Variable Lines have been created using values of the Customer Classification Variable. Sub-Totals have been included for Wholesaler and Hospital customer types. Finally, an Overall Total has been included.
