This article is about the Reporting Options: Units tab in the Reports Wizard. For more information on the other tabs in Reporting Options, see Levels Tab and Currencies Tab.
Note: The Units tab is only displayed if Units have been selected on the Inclusions tab.
Each item code may be assigned a unit conversion factor to convert sales units into equivalent base units.
The variable type Unit of Measure is used when you run a report by converted Units, whereas the variable type Factor is used when you run a report by formula Units.
Standard |
= units |
Converted |
= units x Unit of Measure |
Formula |
= units x Factor |
Which variable uses these variable types can be found in Codes Maintenance > Item Code Classification Variables Maintenance.
Example
Suppose a product group contains different presentation sizes (10, 20, 50 tablets) of a brand. Setting suitable unit conversion factors for each item will allow reports to be generated in terms of sales packs or tablets.
