Direct Selection
Some reports and graphs have a small set of pre-defined file selections (e.g. ‘Current year Plan’ or ‘Actual previous year’). These files depend on the current year setting for the database concerned.
Reports and graphs created using these pre-defined file selections will use the default Periods (January to December), Reporting Period (monthly) and Data to Show (basic monthly data).
Example
If the current year is set to 2010 then ‘Actual previous year’ will be the actual file (suffix A) for 2009.
Note: The options displayed here will differ depending on the type of report you have chosen.
File Type (Monthly/Daily)
Only applies to Analysis vs Time reports in Sales Planning and Analysis databases.
For some reports and graphs it is possible to show data in either monthly or daily format. Clearly, daily data will only be available if the files concerned have been populated with data.
Custom File Selection
This selection method is the most flexible and allows you to directly specify the files, periods and any calculation options such as variances.
Use Package
You may select any previously saved packaged report/graph, which automatically sets the data and item favourites to be used.
When you select the Use Package option, the Select Package File dialog will open.
Use Data Favourite
The user selects a previously saved data favourite file, which automatically sets the data favourite to be used. By selecting View this file's settings the user may then modify the saved favourite as required.
When you select the Use Data Favourite option, the Select Data Favourite dialog will open.
