This functionality is available in IFP 3.3.4 and later.
Overview
You can include one or more Forecast Editors in Dashboards, in addition to reports and graphs. For more information on creating a Dashboard please see How to Create a Dashboard.
Adding a Forecast Editor to a Dashboard
From an existing dashboard or package report output:
- Click File > New > Editors and select either Standard Actual/Forecast Editor or File Summary Actual/Forecast Editor
- Use the wizard to create the editor.
Note: As with reports and graphs, only Forecast Editors created using a Package can be saved into a Dashboard.
- Each editor will open in a new pane. Reposition each pane as required.
You can now use this editor to make changes to the other Packages in your Dashboard and use the Refresh or Refresh All buttons to immediately see the effects.
Refresh All items in a Dashboard
When using an Editor in a Dashboard it is possible that the data you are editing will affect multiple panes. You can use the Refresh All button when viewing a Dashboard to apply these changes to all affected panes at once.
Restrictions when using Multiple Editors
You may use Multiple Editor tabs on one dashboard. We strongly recommend not to use the same data files and items in multiple editors though, especially where one or more editors are above item code level or are editing the same item codes.
Example
The screenshots below show a Report, Graph and Forecast Editor for all Item Codes for CY+1 WKFC, all created using similar Packages.
By updating the Forecast Editor and saving these changes it is then possible to update the other panes in the Dashboard to reflect this Edit. This is done by selecting Refresh All on the Forecast Editor toolbar.
